Privacy Policy

New River Abortion Access Fund (NRAAF) is committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of our callers, clients, donors, subscribers, supporters, and website visitors. Our privacy policy is designed to help you understand how we collect and use the information you provide to us and to assist you in making informed decisions when using our services.

By accessing our site or using our services, you accept and consent to our privacy policy.

Our Commitment to Client Privacy

Your privacy and security are important to us. Protecting the privacy of the people seeking funding for abortion is especially important. No identifying information will be shared outside of NRAAF without your explicit permission, and even then only for the purposes of pledging financial support, or booking travel/lodging if needed.

We collect as little personal information as possible; and keep only what is needed in order to provide assistance or demonstrate a need for our services. Information is stored in our secure client database (DARIA), which is automatically anonymized on a routine basis. Client data cannot be exported to a spreadsheet for outside use, and will only be accessible to vetted and trained volunteers for internal use. All volunteers are required to sign and submit NRAAF’s Confidentiality and Non-disclosure Agreement before interacting with callers or handling caller data.

Voicemails and text messages received via the helpline will be deleted after we contact you. NRAAF uses a Voice Over IP (VOIP) app to keep our text messages and call log in the application instead of in a phone company’s records.

*By calling or texting this number 833-672-2310, Customers agree to receive text messages, If you no longer wish to receive text messages, you may opt-out at any time by replying “STOP”

We recommend taking precautions while you access our site or access/search for any site related to abortion services. If you need to find an abortion provider in your area, we recommend using ineedana.com or abortionfinder.org.

If you are using a shared device and don’t want other people to know you might be pregnant, we recommend you remove this site from your browser history and in the future use “incognito” or “private” browsing to look up information. Don’t forget to turn off ad tracking & location tracking apps on your phone. We recommend using a VPN and a privacy-focused browser like Tor and Firefox Focus. Use DuckDuckGo instead of Google search. Sensitive text messages about your abortion experience are kept by your phone company forever. Instead, use an encrypted messaging app like Signal with disappearing messages turned on.

See Digital Defense Fund’s Guide to Abortion Privacy to learn more about digital privacy and steps you can take to protect yourself.
